Course Description

Having confidence to Speak Up and Speak Out is an essential skill at all stage of our lives, whether at work or at home.  This course is designed to provide the resource for parents and teachers who are not expert in the subject to effectively coach their children to gain confidence in informal gatherings as well as formal and business contexts.


These skills can be taught from an early age and this course is designed for parents and teachers of children from the age of 9 upwards.

Mimi Hughes

Mimi holds a Teaching Diploma in Public Speaking and Communication from the prestigious London Guildhall School of Music and Drama together with degrees in Medical Sciences and Psychology from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She specialises in dynamic and innovative coaching in verbal communication for senior executives in major international companies. Her clients include companies such as AstraZeneca, Du Pont Pharmaceuticals, Nuffield, Shell Petroleum, Goldman Sachs, Accenture, Rank Group and Fox Kids.Mimi also works with Primary School age children, coaching them for performance at the Hereford Festival of Performing Arts in the categories of Poetry, Performance Reading and Public Speaking.She is co-founder of The Oracy Hub.
